Calling all ‘budding photographers’ for Garden Competition
The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan is please to announce that entries for the 2012 Budding Photography competition are now being accepted.
The 6 competition categories include: People In Gardens, Plants and Animials, Landscapes, Up Close and Personal - Macro categories for primiary school and high school aged students. The overall winner will receive $500 in prize money with category winners receiving $150.
A $20 entry fee for the competition applies to cover the cost of photo printing and professional mounting for the exhibition which entrants get to keep. Photos entered in the competition must be taken within the Garden.
An exhibition of entries will be held from 12-22 August in the Bowden Centre to be opened by renowed photographer Anne Geddes.
The Garden is currently running a series of photographic workshops in tandem with the competition. Places are still available for the Animal and Plant photography workshop on 27 May, Landscape Photography workshop on 17 June and Macro Photography workshop on 8 July. Each workshop costs $55.
