Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living Courses Available

 

 

 
Learn to use your garden for alternative remedies!
This course will allow you to:
-      Gain skills & knowledge of growing herbs and plants
-      Identify medicinal uses of herbs and plants within your garden
-      Participate in a community project
Topics Include:
-      How to create a herb garden
-     How to make natural pesticides & weed sprays
-      Herb diseases
-      Types of soil for herb gardens
-     Medicinal uses of herbs and plants
 
Classes are held weekly for 18 weeks (excluding school holiday

Pathway to Learning for Sustainability
This course will help you gain skills, knowledge and an opportunity to develop an understanding of environment sustainability. It will also prepare you for further education and training in the environmental sustainability conservation and land care areas.

-Water wise gardening
- Eco System & sustainability
- Participating in a team to investigate community action to contribute to sustainable living
- Types of soils
- Solar energy & water tanks
- Sustainable gardening techniques

-      Gain skills & knowledge in developing & creating a vegetable garden in your backyard throughout all seasons of the year!
-      Plan and set goals for personal sustainability.
-     Participate and contribute to a community project.

-     Worm farms/composting
-      Seasonal vegetables & gardens
-      Alternative gardens & vegetables
-      Weeds & pests
-      Different formats of gardens e.g. Balcony
-      Harvesting information
-      Types of soil to use
