The Song Company's 2013 Season turns to the element of 'Air' for inspiration as part of a four year cycle investigating Earth, Water, Air and Fire. The Prophet will feature voices and oud in music composed by Joseph Tawadros and influenced by both Eastern and Western traditions. Our tribute to John Dowland features the lute, that most intimate of instruments, bringing together the greatest living lutenist of our times, Nigel North, and performing John Downland's exquisite and moving music written for the lute. The Season concludes with a return to the extensive repertoire of Christmas music featuring a selection of angelic music from Germany, Italy and France and, of course from Australia. Of Birds and Angels will include Isaac's Christmas Motets, Monteverdi's Sacred Psalms and Edward's Kingfisher Psalms.
